Maeum Story is an AI-powered interactive narrative role-playing experience. You step into a fictional world and play as the protagonist of a romantic story, where your choices genuinely shape the direction of the narrative and the relationships that unfold around you.
Unlike traditional games with scripted paths, Maeum Story uses advanced artificial intelligence to generate the story in real time, meaning every playthrough is unique to you.
It is both. Think of it as an interactive novel where you are the author and the protagonist at the same time. The AI creates the world, the characters, and the narrative, but the direction you take it is entirely up to you.
Maeum Story focuses on romantic and emotionally complex narratives: relationships, tension, vulnerability, and personal growth, all set within richly detailed fictional worlds. The tone is mature and literary. The content is designed for adults aged 18 and over.
Yes. During the current beta phase, the Service is free to access for invited users. A free tier allows up to 10 gameplay turns per session. We will communicate any changes to pricing or availability in advance by email.
Beta means Maeum Story is in an early, pre-release testing phase. We are actively developing and improving the product. You may encounter bugs, incomplete features, or changes to how the Service works. Your feedback during this phase is invaluable and directly shapes the final product.
Maeum Story is currently accessible from most countries. However, access during beta is limited to users with a valid invite code. If the Service is not available in your region for legal or technical reasons, you will be informed upon registration.
During the beta phase, access requires an invite code. You can join the waitlist on our website, and we will send invite codes progressively as we expand the beta. We do not share timelines for individual invitations.
We distribute invite codes in waves. There is no guaranteed timeline, and we prioritise based on waitlist order and capacity. Make sure you have not filtered our emails into spam: invitations are sent from legal@maeum-story.com.
No. Each person may hold only one account. Duplicate accounts will be suspended without notice. If you are locked out of your account, please contact us at legal@maeum-story.com.
To permanently delete your account and all associated data, send a request to legal@maeum-story.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" from the email address associated with your account. We will process your request within 30 days and confirm deletion by email. See our Privacy Policy for details on data retention.
Maeum Story uses email-based login: no password is required. If you are having trouble accessing your account, contact us at legal@maeum-story.com with the email address you used to register.
Yes, entirely. Every line of narration, every character response, and every story event is generated in real time by AI language models. Nothing is pre-written or scripted. This is what makes each story genuinely unique.
Maeum Story uses a multi-agent AI pipeline: a team of specialised AI systems that each handle different aspects of the story. Some agents focus on the literary writing layer, others on relationship reasoning, others on real-time inference for responsiveness. These systems work together to produce a coherent, emotionally rich, and responsive story.
We work with several leading AI model providers under GDPR-compliant agreements. The current list of providers is available on request at legal@maeum-story.com.
No. All characters in Maeum Story are entirely fictional, created and animated by AI. They are not real people, and any resemblance to real individuals is coincidental. Interactions with AI characters should not be mistaken for human relationships.
The AI is designed to respond to the full range of player choices without artificial restrictions. If you choose to ignore the romantic plot and open a bakery, the story will adapt. The world reacts to you realistically, not through scripted paths, but through dynamic AI reasoning about consequences. Freedom is central to the design.
The AI is designed with safety guidelines to avoid generating harmful content (e.g., content involving minors, explicit instructions for harm, hate speech). If you encounter content you believe is inappropriate, please report it using the in-app feedback tool or by emailing legal@maeum-story.com. We review all reports.
Yes. Maeum Story uses a persistent memory system. Key events, character relationships, emotional developments, and choices from previous turns are stored and used to inform future gameplay, creating a sense of continuity.
Yes. Maeum Story includes an optional AI-generated voice narration feature with 30 different voices available. Voices can be assigned to different characters based on their personality. This feature can be toggled on or off in the gameplay interface.
AI language models, even state-of-the-art ones, can occasionally produce outputs that are inconsistent, unexpected, or outside the intended experience. This is a known characteristic of current AI technology. We continuously work to improve consistency and quality. Feedback on specific issues is always welcome.
We collect your email address for account creation, and gameplay data (your choices, inputs, and session progress) necessary to run the Service. We do not collect your real name, financial information, or sensitive personal data. See our full Privacy Policy for details.
Your gameplay inputs are processed by our AI model providers in order to generate narrative responses. We never send your email address or directly identifying information to these providers, only pseudonymised session context.
All AI providers are bound by GDPR-compliant Data Processing Agreements, with Standard Contractual Clauses in place for international transfers. Please note that some of our AI providers are based in China, which does not have an EU adequacy decision; we apply supplementary safeguards and you can request to opt out of processing by AI providers based in China by emailing legal@maeum-story.com. Your personal gameplay data is not used to train third-party AI foundational models. We contractually prohibit our AI model providers from using your data for this purpose and monitor their terms of service. We use anonymised and aggregated data to improve our own system prompts and pipeline quality; this data cannot be attributed to any individual. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Yes. Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To submit a data subject request, email legal@maeum-story.com from your registered email address. We will respond within 30 days.
As an EU resident, you have the full suite of GDPR rights, including the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and to object to processing. Maeum Story is designed for users aged 18 and over due to the romantic and mature nature of its narrative content. Users aged 16 to 17 may access the Service only with verified parental or guardian consent where required by law. Users under 16 are not permitted to use the Service.
We currently use self-declaration at registration: by creating an account, you confirm that you meet the applicable age requirement. We are aware that self-declaration alone is not a robust mechanism, and we plan to implement additional age verification measures in future, in compliance with applicable law (including the EU Digital Services Act and Italian regulations). These safeguards apply regardless of how users frame their inputs. Violations are reviewed by human moderators and may result in account termination and, where required by law, reporting to relevant authorities.

Maeum Story is a web application and runs in any modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge; latest versions recommended). It is responsive and works on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. For the best experience, we recommend a desktop or tablet with a screen width of at least 768px.
The narrative is generated in real time by AI, which takes a few seconds. You will see the text stream in progressively as it is generated. This is expected behaviour and is part of the experience. If loading takes more than 30 seconds, please check your internet connection or try refreshing the page. If the issue persists, contact us at legal@maeum-story.com.
Occasionally, the AI stream may be interrupted due to a network issue or a backend timeout. Refresh the page and continue from your last saved turn. If this happens repeatedly, please report it via the feedback tool with a description of what occurred.
No. The Service requires an active internet connection, as all AI generation happens on our servers in real time.

We make no guarantee that beta data will be migrated to a production environment. We will communicate our plans clearly in advance. If data migration is not possible, we will give users adequate notice and the opportunity to export or delete their data.
Not yet. The beta is invite-only and capacity is limited. If you would like to nominate friends for early access, send their email addresses to legal@maeum-story.com and we will add them to the priority waitlist. We cannot guarantee or schedule invites.

Yes. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you have the right to refer disputes to the EU Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
